Why biomass?
Generating your own energy through biomass reduces the cost of your heating bills and safeguards against future rising costs. Whilst fossil fuels are subject to frequent price fluctuations, the cost of timber has remained stable. Biomass can help your business stabilise energy costs in the longer term too. These savings will increase as the predicted rise in fossil fuel costs takes hold.
Woody biomass is a sustainable energy source. For each tree that is felled, another is planted in its place. It is this release and capture cycle that makes biomass a carbon neutral and environmentally friendly fuel source.
Biomass energy plans
We have two plans which will enable businesses to adopt biomass:
The first plan is for a free, fully installed biomass system provided by us. We understand that not all businesses have the capital to finance an investment such as biomass but would still like to reduce their heating bills. Your business will benefit from renewable heat at a lower cost than you are currently paying, fixed over a long term. This option also removes the day-to-day worries of the maintenance and servicing of a boiler.
The second plan is for the upfront purchase of a boiler. In addition to benefiting from a reduction in your heating costs, an extra income is made through the government funded Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI).
The RHI is a set payment made on each unit of heat generated. The Index linked payments are made over 20 years which support a payback on the initial investment of between 4 - 7 years. As an example, and depending on heat demand, a 250kW biomass boiler fully installed can provide an annual benefit of £38,000 with a return of 34.6% and payback of 2.9 years.
